בספטמבר 2016, בעת שכיהנתי כחבר כנסת וסגן השר במשרד ראש הממשלה, שוחחתי עם ראש הממשלה נתניהו על חבילת הסיוע הביטחוני שעליה ישראל עמדה לחתום עם ארה"ב.למרות שהיו לי סיבות רבות להתנגד לחבילה, בין היתר החשש מהתלות הישראלית בארה"ב באספקת חימושים, ידעתי גם שאובמה ינצל את החודשים האחרונים שלו בנשיאות כדי לגנות את ישראל במועצת הביטחון של האו"ם. "זה הדפוס שלו", אמרתי לראש הממשלה. "תן לנו כסף ביד אחת, וביד השנייה, סטור לנו בפרצוף". אכן, ישראל חתמה על החבילה, ושלושה חודשים לאחר מכן, בדצמבר, ארצות הברית אפשרה קבלת החלטת מועצת הביטחון 2334 המגנה את ההתנחלויות הישראליות ביו״ש.גם ביידן, למרות תמיכתו בישראל, ללא ספק נוטר טינה עמוקה לממשלת ישראל והאיש שעומד בראשה. אסור לשלול את האפשרות שהוא לא ידאג להפיל קריאה של מועצת הביטחון של האו"ם להקמת מדינה פלסטינית.להמשך קריאה 👇🏾 ... A detailed account mostly political of the lead up to the six day war (beginning in 1948 ) and continuing for about five years after the war. It has a very academic flavor the author seems to like LBJ (?) and dislike Dayan. He does present some Arab sources and a few from the soviets
